Thing #21 Podcasts and Videocasts

Photostory is quick and easy! It is a great tool to use and I only wish I would have known about it seven years ago when I was planning a wedding and paid big bucks for someone else to make a slide show of pictures! I first downloaded the free software and within a few minutes I was in business! It was very easy to upload the pictures and simple enough for a child to follow. For my sample videocast I chose to use some pictures that I took when we spent last Christmas in Iowa. All that snow helped us remember why we move down here to Texas!

I really enjoyed creating this videocast and can see many uses for then in schools from creating book reviews to making a video of classroom events throughout the year to show at our end of the year celebration!

  1. Nice job...I love the peppy music and might want to use it...is it from the PhotoStory music collection or did you upload it? If from PS, do you remember title or section?

Keep this PS handy when July & August show up around here...it will help you cool off! :-)

  2. It was from Photostory-Rock:Ska-n-Seven:Cheerful
I thought the hardest part was finding the right music!

  6. Love it. I am starting Thing 21 soon and can't wait to dive in. This may just give me the incentive to put a kids "photostory" of their lives together. I have lots of half finished scrapbooks and all the supplies crammed into containers. I could sit by the pool and work on it while the kids are swimming. Now all I need is a pool and some more time.

  7. I forgot to add that this is a great tool to use in the classroom/library. Documenting the research process, student created books and illustrations.

  8. Math chicks,
Absolutely! This would be a great way to capture their small moments electronically. What a great idea. I still can't believe how easy it was and I'm ready to try it with my class at school. Thanks for the comment!
