Thing #6- Mashups and 3rd Party Sites
Wow! I don't know about you, but I have found myself losing track of the time and spending HOURS playing with these new applications! I love the idea of creating a trading card through Big Huge Labs. I plan to use it next year to give to the parents during class orientations so that they have all of our classroom information!
I am also excited to try Bookr in my classroom. It is a very user friendly application that could be used by kids of all ages. What an awesome way for my students to showcase their work! Every year we have an Author's Chair Night where we invite the parents into the classroom to share all the writing pieces they have written throughout the year. This year I am thinking each child can select their favorite piece to publish through Bookr and showcase them to the parents!
So far.........Thing #6 is at the top of my list!

Your trading card looks great! Glad to see someone else made one! :-) Good idea for parents at open house too.
ReplyDeleteas you explore using bookr, I would be most interested in how you are going to track the books the kids make. Have been exploring thru others ideas as well.
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas about the trading card! I know our IT person puts all information on one little useful card for teachers at the start of the year. Parents would really love this. I teach on a 4-man team, so we could make a team card, list the team's schedule and contact info, and parents would have it in a nutshell. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI also liked Bookr and Big Huge Labs. I plan to introduce Bookr to the teachers with whom I work. I am sure they will love them too.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning idea...
